Hello folks and welcome to my culinary chronicles!
My name is Giovanni, a Sicilian born installed in Luxembourg, straight in the heart of Europe.
I am a business and leisure traveler, brought up on Mediterranean sun, sea and soil, who has had a chance to explore some of the world’s best plates and most delicious bites.
I love food and I write reviews about it.
I love everything about food: from the most basic ingredients to the most audacious combinations, from the perfumes it releases to to the stains it leaves on the apron.
And I write reviews to homage the hard work of its craftsmen and the multitude of women and men who wake up every day to open their kitchens and offer their smiles to random strangers who walk the door of their restaurants.
The adventure of Hungry Italian in Town started at the end of 2015 with an Instagram page where I shared my experience with many friends who were asking for restaurant recommendations.
I have now decided to set up a blog and give you a larger scope of what is worth trying out, as well as sharing some of my intimate impressions I get on the spot.
In 2016, I had the opportunity to collaborate as a regional expert with Daniel Young, food writer for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and The Guardian, to its guide on the best pizza places in the world, 'Where to eat pizza', published by Phaidon.
As you can easily guess, I love cooking too and I will try to share with you some simple and tasty recipes following one single rule: use only fresh and great products!
All what you are about to read contains only unbiased opinions, driven solely by my personal experience, senses and almost 30 years of active eating.
I truly hope you will find some valuable hints on where to go, what to try and create a delicious journey no matter where you head off.
