Balthazar: french brasserie and pastry bakery in Soho

Walking in Soho, it is impossible not to notice this French brasserie in Spring St, opened by chef Keith McNally in 1997.

The place is one of the most reputed French restaurant in NYC and has a beautiful entrance, fully inspired to Paris and its golden age.

This time our focus was the small restaurant's bakery offering different kinds of french and american pastries.

Having lived in France for a while, we decided to try something different and opted for the banana donut and its combination of semi-sweet banana glaze and richly tossed hazelnuts.

Even if this sounds already enough to give this donut a try, the main reason is definitively the donut dough hiding a delicious crunch in every bite!
