Jack's Wife Frida: Israeli brunch in Soho

Jack's Wife Freda is a lovely spot for your sunday brunches in Soho.

The place has 3 long tables where guest can sit by and spontaneously create a nice sense of community.

Food is great, strongly influenced by the mediterranean cuisine, in particular by the Israeli breakfast.

I started with the green shakshuka... The original shakshuka is a dish of eggs poached in a sauce done with tomatoes, chili pepper and onions.

In this version the traditional ingredients leave the stage to tomatillos, green peppers, cilantro, onion and garlic, maintaining the same lightly spicy and fresh taste!

The second dish was a matzo ball soup.

Traditionally served during the passover, the commemoration of the liberation of Jewish people from slavery, this ball made of matzah meal, egg and water, is served in a chicken soup.

It's very delicate, not over flavored but healthy and perfect for a cold winter day!
