Taormina (ME) / Osteria Nero D'Avola: Arrivederci Sicilia

Last post of our tour in Sicily. It has been a long and wonderful journey for us. We truly hope you enjoyed it.

Our goal was to have you smelling the Nubia garlic on the cous cous, the squeezed lemon on the raw red prawns, the sweet almond flavor of the granita... but also watching the mozzarella cloud of Pino Cuttaia and the caleidoscopic menu of Ciccio Sultano.

The last post of the culinary chronicles in Sicily is dedicated to a man, more than a restaurant: Turi Siligato, chef and owner of the Osteria Nero d'Avola in Taormina.

Turi is a wonderful and inspiring man with an incredible knowledge and passion for wine.

When he speaks, you can immediately perceive his love for life: in few minutes, he will bring you in a boat fishing in the Mediterranean Sea, hunting black wild boars in the Nebrodi or sipping wine in the Aetna wine yards.

Then, when approaching the closing, notes from Chopin or Mozart will reach your ears. It is the last gift of a magic night!

Ask him to recommend a glass of wine, relax and enjoy the show.

Among the dishes, do not miss the lemon cannolo: a thin slice of lemon, filled with datterino tomato and tuna bottarga. One bite. Arrivederci Sicilia!
